Batok at Wasay
Our country is indeed rich traditions even before the colonization of Spaniards. It's just that we adapt what Spanish taught us before that we are still using today but there's a lot of tradition and crafts that are still alive today that we didn't know it was from our dearest ancestors like "pag-uukit" and "pagbabatok". Pagbabatok symbolizes power for men and beauty for women. The materials used in pagbabatok are very traditional. Pagbabatok is one of the dying-art in the Philippines since Wang Od is the last mambabatok alive from her generation, thanks to god one of her granddaughter asked Apo Wang Od to teach her.

Pagpapanday is Filipino's way for forging, it is still known in Benguet, they're using what they called "Wasay" as a weapon, tool in cutting woods, and source of income. Even the holder of their Wasay is a hand-made knitted craft.
